President Boyd Russell Examines New SEC Reserves Reporting Guidelines and Related Opportunities


In the November issue of The American Oil & Gas Reporter Energy Navigator President, Boyd Russell, examines opportunities available to oil and gas companies with the SEC's adoption of new reserves reporting guidelines.

HOUSTON - On Dec. 29, 2008, the U.S. Security & Exchange Commission approved revisions to modernize its oil and gas company reporting requirements in order to provide investors with more meaningful and comprehensive disclosure.

In doing so, the SEC has given the oil and gas industry an opportunity to communicate a more complete and accurate representation of their value to investors. This allows the oil and gas industry to participate on a more level playing field with other industries when competing for investment dollars.
