Version 4.9.62, a beta version of Value Navigator® is now available. The latest version offers a test edition of a valuable new feature designed to calculate a breakeven price for projects. As a result, an additional table has been added to the schema. Version 4.9.62 also contains numerous fixes to a variety of minor issues discovered in the previous Value Navigator 4.9 beta version.

Any databases upgraded to this version will no longer be compatible with previous versions of Value Navigator.

Boyd Russell is pleased to announce that Dean Anderson has joined Energy Navigator as Vice President Client Management.  Dean will be a new addition to the executive team that includes Boyd, Stephanie Prior, and Michael Jegen.

In his new role, Dean will bring his extensive software experience to the executive team, providing additional perspective to support the company’s continued growth.  Dean will be responsible for ensuring that Energy Navigator’s client facing activities continue to provide the highest level of value to the industry.  These activities will include marketing, sales, client services, and support. 

Dean graduated from the University of Calgary with a B.Sc. in Geology in 1990.  Since that time, Dean has contributed to the success of a number of software and data companies providing innovative solutions to the oil & gas industry.  He has worked for Digitech, Labrador Technologies, IHS Energy, and Qbyte (a software division owned by P2 Energy).  His collaborative approach and communications skills have made Dean a valuable asset for his colleagues and the clients he works with. 

Stephanie Prior will continue to provide her vision and leadership as Executive Vice President.  Stephanie, who has spearheaded Energy Navigator’s impressive growth since 2002, will focus her skills on strategic opportunities intended to drive further market expansion.

Michael Jegen, who has been with the company since it was founded in 1998, will continue providing his innovation and leadership as Vice President Development.

Energy Navigator Inc. has incorporated the two new deep drilling incentives announced April 10th, 2008 into a beta version of Value Navigator® 4.9.  This version has been in development since January, and was released to selected clients in March. We are awaiting further clarification from the Alberta government to finalize this release, and future beta versions may need to be released to address other royalty changes.

Value Navigator® 4.9 beta will be made available via web download only to the designated contact person at each company.  Also on our website, you will find documentation and instructions for using these incentives in Value Navigator® and a sample database.

Energy Navigator Inc. is currently working on the changes to the new royalty framework that were announced on April 10th 2008. We will be incorporating the new royalty calculations into the beta version of the current release which had been released to selected clients in March. Because some of the calculations still need further clarification from regulatory officials, it is likely that more than one beta version will need to be released.

The deep oil and deep gas incentives will be available by May 6, 2008.  As with other royalty releases, this will be made available via web download only to the designated contact person at each company.

Energy Navigator Inc. (ENI) has a beta version available of the upcoming release of Value Navigator® v4.9. This release focused on adding more flexibility to almost every workflow. Some of the latest enhancements available in this version include:

• Well Scheduling – Quickly create multiple copies of a prototype well to evaluate an entire drilling program.
• More Granular Custom Text Fields – Identify and flag economic entities at the reserves category and status level to build custom reports for budgeting. View and edit these custom text fields from the economics tab.
• Reserves Enhancements – Italics show which entities and reserves categories have change records. Reserves and Change Management options have been more clearly categorized in the main menu.
• Custom Reports at the folder level will summarize results faster and allow custom reports on folder level economic indicators.

If you are currently working with Value Navigator® 4.7v2, there are some other exciting enhancements that were available with the fall release of Value Navigator® 4.8v2.

• Daily Data – import daily data for new wells to forecast with more accuracy and understand the success of your drilling program earlier
• Custom Reports – these can now be run just like the rest of Value Navigator®’s reports.  And the new customizable report list keeps your favourite reports handy
• Status Graphs can now be viewed on the Declines | Graphs view allowing you to compare while you work.
• US economics enhancements including multi-currency reporting can expand your reasons to use Value Navigator®

Two themes in the latest release are:

Enhanced user experience

Many improvements have been made to our user interface which will allow you to improve your day-to-day workflow.  Some of the improvements are:

• Import all of your field/incurred costs directly into your AFE’s. 
• Input your field/incurred costs at any time during the life cycle of the AFE. 
• Freeze columns for ease of viewing.

• Use Windows user ID and password for single sign-on in order to log into AFE Navigator automatically.

Improved integration with other systems

Integration of systems is critical in your day-to-day workflows.  The ongoing focus of our development effort is to make your workflows more efficient by enhancing AFE Navigator’s ability to seamlessly communicate with all of your other systems.  Examples of improved integration are presented below:

• Retrieve documents related to an AFE through a web browser front-end of your document management system in order to view important information.

• A number of key events in AFE Navigator can now automatically provide AFE information for use by your third-party applications using a publish subscribe model.
• Control your data exchange with accounting software using our new user-definable data integration tool.

ENI Responds to New Royalty Framework
Alberta's New Royalty Framework was announced on October 25th, 2007. Energy Navigator Inc. (ENI) is already working to incorporate the royalty changes into Value Navigator®. Expect a release in the immediate future.

This new release of Value Navigator will allow you to evaluate your Alberta projects within the new framework. In addition, ENI will provide support and integrated tools to automatically update your current projects and to help you conduct sensitivity analysis at any level of detail.

The recommendations from the Alberta Royalty Review Panel are out.
